After four weekends of racing and just over a third of the 2011/2012 season complete, the Trek Midwest Cyclocross team is off to a flying start with 2 victories and 8 podium appearances in 10 events. Mark has made the jump from riding in the chase group at the USGPs in 2010 to battling at the front in 2011. He currently sits in 2nd place overall as the series hits its half way mark. Matt scored a career high 8th place finish at the USGP New Belgium Cup in Fort Collins, CO and sits in 14th place in the overall standings, lying just 15 points shy of the top ten. Jay currently leads the Flatwater Cycling Twilight Series with 2 events still remaining.

Covering 2800 miles through 7 states, the team has made its presence felt throughout the midwest and mountain states region. The team continues its racing and training schedule over the next few weeks with training clinics and the final two events of the Flatwater Twilight Series before heading to Louisville, KY for rounds 5 & 6 of the USGP of Cyclocross.

Oakley Night Cap Cross

The team was once again in action this past weekend at the Oakley Night Cap Cross race in Des Moines Iowa at Mullet's restaurant and bar. Mark took his 5th podium of the season. He has a race report at THE 622 REALM.

The team kicked off the season in St. Louis at the Gateway Cross Cup. Matt took the holeshot and instigated much of the early action until Mark finally took over the reigns and went away with two other riders ultimately claiming the last step on the podium. Matt and Jay came through the finish a short while later taking 7th and 10th on the day. Taylor Carrington of Denver, Colorado won the day with Kansas City's Andrew Coe in third.
